PERODUA KELISA MAKES GOOD PROGRESS ON WORLD
CUP RALLY
After a cautious first day of the World
Cup Rally district nurse Karen Young has started to move her Perodua Kelisa up
the leader board and now occupies 33rd place in the running order.
Karen is thoroughly enjoying the experience of driving the Kelisa and describes
the vehicle as a fantastic little car.
The
Kelisa has already negotiated a 10 mile hill climb through ice and snow without
slipping and Karen reports feeling very safe despite the high altitude and
treacherous conditions. She also remarks how easy and economical the car is to
drive over long distances, comfortably managing to cruise at 80 mph on motorway
sections.
The
third leg of the Rally took the competitors along a particularly rough
mountainside logging track where the Kelisa proved its worth by maintaining a
steady 30-35 miles an hour for 31 kilometres. Many other vehicles suffered heavy
damage on this stage but the Kelisa only suffered slight buckling on one of the
front wheels which was easily repaired.
The
Rally will continue through
Montenegro
in
Yugoslavia
and move on to Tirana, the capital of
Albania
. Karen is enthusiastically looking forward to the new challenges which this leg
of the journey may bring.
