PERODUA KELISA PLACED 3rd IN
CLASS AFTER THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME
Perodua
UK
are delighted with the results of the World Cup Rally, a whirlwind tour of 12
countries in 12 days which covered 4,400 km between
London
and
Athens
. The Perodua Kelisa, driven by district nurse Karen Young, improved its
position steadily as the Rally went on and finished in 25th place as
well as coming 3rd in class for which Karen received a trophy.
“Karen has done extremely well on her
first major rally and we are all very proud of her. We knew the Kelisa would
rise to the challenge because of its excellent credentials and this performance
has proved us right,” said Tim
Slaughter, Managing Director of Perodua
UK
.
Karen is very pleased with her
achievement and also with the performance of the Kelisa over the entire Rally.
She remarks that the Kelisa never once lost grip, even on ice and snow at a high
altitude, and that the car felt very secure. The Rally took the Kelisa to some
of the most challenging roads in
Europe
, including
Albania
where there is no tarmac on any of the roads. Several cars in the Rally
suffered severe damage and some had to retire but the Kelisa only had one
slightly buckled wheel after a 31 km hill climb which was easy to repair.
“The Rally was very hard work but the
Kelisa was amazing. I felt completely safe the whole time which helped my
nerves, even on the most difficult stages,” said
Karen Young, driver of the Kelisa.
The Kelisa required very little
maintenance throughout the Rally, merely needing one small top up with oil
during the whole event. This was also after the challenging hill climb which
proved the Kelisa is comfortable maintaining a steady pace in difficult
conditions for long periods of time. The car’s performance on motorway
sections showed it is equally adept when cruising at higher speeds.
The Kelisa impressed Karen so
much that she is planning to buy one to use for her job as a district nurse. As
well as this, she intends to get a full roll cage fitted on the Kelisa in order
to take part in some smaller rallying events and is already planning to enter
the Kelisa for a second time in next year’s World Cup Rally.
